Super Street Fighter IV: Vr. 2012 Final Changes Now Up

November 30, 2011

So the final change log for the latest patch for Super Street Fighter 4 has been posted on Capcom Unity. This free patch will be available from the December 13 on Xbox live and the Playstation Network, there is confirmed PC patch but no date at this point.

Eventhubs has a simplified guide on all the changes to each character and the list of the alpha and beta (part 1 and Part2) changes. If the stuff from the alpha and beta changes isn’t in the final change log then it’s unlikely that they’ll be in the game, but we never know with Capcom.

What do you think about the changes? Good or bad? I know that I’m a little annoyed they took Ken’s combo in to sweep away, there was no need, not really sure what I’m going to do with the target combo being buffed, it’s weak anyway and the close standing medium isn’t super-cancelable so it just seems a bit of a waste; thanks for the feint and far standing roundhouse buff though. However I am looking forward to the buffs to Evil Ryu, he could be a viable character now and maybe fit my play style a little better, now that he’s got some more health. However Makoto hasn’t really been touched but just got a damage and life nerf and her EX-Karakusa’s hitbox has been nerfed to the light hitbox, so it’s tiny. No more clutches with that move then.

What about your characters, happy with the changes or are you just going to give up on this game and move on to UMC3, KOF XIII or Third Strike?

UMVC3: Nemesis Video Round-Up

November 29, 2011

So I got UMVC3 and I was messing about with teams and synergy and what not and came to the conclusion that I want to pick up the undead Jill Valentine obsessed tyrant powerhouse Nemesis for my Twins of Sparda team. Nemesis is a great character that can guarantee a million damage from a couple resets and is the perfect character to get you out of trouble. He may be slow, but what he lacks in speed he makes up in sheer destructive power to annihilate most characters in one combo. That said I didn’t know where to start beyond mission mode so here are a couple of videos to show you, and myself, what you can do with this T-Virus bad ass.

Figercramp’s week one guide by FC Jago. He takes you through what normals, specials and B’n’Bs you should be using and a little bit about advance spacing and strategies you could be implementing.

Onewingedangle uploaded a nice video showing off his reset potential with Nemesis’ command grab.

Desk, the ultimate game-breaking combofiend himself, put up two videos showing relaunch potential in basic and advanced formats.

For more stuff if you’re thinking of picking up the ultimate tyrant from my favourite Resi then head over to the forum at Shoryuken forums for Nemesis and get some technology to beast in this game with him; or if you just wanna get some info and tech on other characters for your new team.

Happy practicing.

Godsgarden x Twitch TV Classic Tourney and Results

November 28, 2011

Godsgarden and Twitch TV teamed up over the weekend to bring us a Street Fighter IV: AE tournament but with a twist, you can only pick characters that were available in Super Street Fighter II. That’s right now Twins, no Fei Longs, just good ol’ Street Fighter classics, sadly that meant Sagat.

This “Classic Tournament” is unique in that it features a strict rule on which characters are made available to players as only those found in the original Street Fighter II will be allowed for tournament play. This means that of the 39 characters available in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, the only characters allowed for GODSGARDEN x TwitchTV will be Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, E.Honda, Zangief, Balrog, Sagat, Vega and M.Bison.

Players like Mago, Kindevu, Itsabashi Zangief, Kazunoko, Mike Ross and more were in attendance, all fighting for a $1,000 USD prize pool, sponsored by TwitchTV.

The results are as follows:

1. Bonchan (Sagat)
2. Hanamaruki (Sagat)
3. Acqua (Sagat)
4.|Mike Ross (E.Honda)

No surprise that there was 3 Sagat’s in the final 4 but congratulations to Mike Ross for getting fourth with Honda. I expected more Ryus. Oh well bring on Vr.2012.

Skullgirls: Valentine The Ninja Nurse Unveiled By Reverge Labs

November 28, 2011

She’s a ninja nurse that attacks with corpses, so she can’t be a very good nurse. Good at her profession or not she looks like she could kick ass in Reverge Lab’s new fighter Skullgirls.

Valentine fights with medical supplies. We’re talking: bone saws, defibrillators and poison needles that will slowly dwindle your opponents life bar. Oh and she throws corpses… Weird, she’s nurse not a coroner.

Skullgirls, for those of you who aren’t in the know, is a 2D fighter, similar to MVC, that boasts an all girl cast of fighters that have unusual fighting hats. Valentine is part of an Anti-Skull girl operative from the ‘Last Hope’ operatives that now serves the Skullgirls

The game will, hopefully, be released early 2012 on both the Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

Fun fact: The art for this game is from a contributing artist on Scott Pilgrim, Alex Ahad and the music by Yamane Michiru who scored Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

UMVC3: A Dante Guide To Keeping It Stylish In Ultimate

November 26, 2011

Noah, A.K.A TakeUrLife has posted a guide for all the Dante players hoping to carry on using the achingly cool demon hunter. Dante isn’t all that different in this reiteration of MVC3, just you have to “think more” when you’re using him. He’s now got character specific combos as opposed to his domination no matter what your size or creed like in vanilla. Ultimately (no pun intended) though he’s still the same badass as he was in vanilla just you have to be a little more technical and on the ball to use him.

Noah recommends sitting out a couple tourneys to get used to this new version of Dante unless, of course, you’re a fan of losing money. Check it out.

UMVC3: Desk’s Wolverine Infinite

November 25, 2011

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was supposed to be the version if MvC3 that was rid of cheap tricks, broken mechanics and a bit more balanced than vanilla. However Desk the great combofiend and glitch god has, of course, found a plethora of infinites that still exist in the game, (like Chun-li’s infinite) but he’s found one for, arguably the most annoying character apart from Dark Phoenix in vanilla, Wolverine. They gave him a new move called Berserker Rage which has a large hitbox on it that can hit the other side of a character and if you just mash it you’ve got a nasty infinite, with damage scaling of course, but there’s nothing you can do about it until that character is dead. It only works on certain characters like Nemesis,Tron, Sentinel and Hulk but there’s scope for more after some testing. Oh and it builds meter like a champ. Happy hating on Wolverine again.

Check it out.
